Every Tuesday I champion a woman led podcast in the hope you will listen to it, enjoy it and together we can help increase the visibility of women podcasters.
I reckon I need this week’s Turn Up The Volume Tuesday podcast.
This week the woman led podcast I want you all to hear is Dark Coffee Podcast by Alice Lyons.
Alice’s podcast is a great, if sometimes challenging, listen as she has the conversations we should be having around mental health.
Alice talks about how she had thoughts of suicide and will also chat around what needs to be done to make mental health better, In particular how we think about it and how we talk about it.
Alice talks with care and compassion but also doesn't allow any excuses. I think the phrase my mum would use is firm but fair. But actually add friendly in to the mix because firm but fair sounds like the teacher nobody likes.
During lockdown the podcast has been a supportive friend and so has all her content.
Go give Dark Coffee Podcast a listen - perfect for so called “Blue Monday” week.
I'd love to know what you think of the podcast and do please keep sending your podcast recommendations to me. I'm loving discovering new podcasts and being able to share them.
For clarity I am using the term women to cover anybody who identifies as a woman. I will also include podcasts by people who identify as non-binary in my reviews but I will make it clear they are non-binary and use correct pronouns.
(If I do make a mistake in this please tell me! I want to learn, but please be kind.)
