Every Tuesday I champion a woman led podcast in the hope you will listen to it, enjoy it and together we can help increase the visibility of women podcasters.
I am really missing travel. Going to a new place, exploring the area and meeting new people. So when Lisa from Wanderluxe By Lisa (aka best travel agent ever) suggested The Big Travel Podcast for Turn Up The Volume Tuesday it took me approximately 2 seconds to start listening!
The Big Travel Podcast is hosted by journalist Lisa Francesca Nand. She describes it as "a thinly disguised euphemism for the big journey through life". Lisa talks to people to find out their stories through their life in travel. This means not only you get to hear some incredible adventures in far flung places but also stories from less exotic home towns.
Lisa speaks to a range of people some you'll have heard of and others who you might not be too familiar with, but all of them have fascinating stories to tell. This week's episode featuring Jamie Douglas-Hamilton had me laughing in places, open mouthed in others and wincing in sympathetic pain, all during my walk in the rain. I never want to go rowing...
Episodes come out weekly and are around 40 - 60 minutes long (perfect for a lunch break walk!)
You can listen to The Big Travel Podcast here or search for The Big Travel Podcast where you normally listen to podcasts!
I’d love to know what you think of the podcast and do please keep sending your podcast recommendations to me. I’m loving discovering new podcasts and being able to share them.
I am more than happy for you to send me yours or one you are connected to as long as a) it is majority women led and b) you tell me you have a connection to it.
For clarity I am using the term women to cover anybody who identifies as a woman. I will also include podcasts by people who identify as non-binary in my reviews but I will make it clear they are non-binary and use correct pronouns.
(If I do make a mistake in this please tell me! I want to learn, but please be kind.)
